Current Sermon

April 7 - May 12, 2024

We’ve all heard the criticism that Christians are a bunch of hypocrites. There are far too many examples of times when our actions fall far short of our words and beliefs. But that was never the case for Jesus. He not only talked a big talk – he walked it every day. In this series, we see from Mark’s gospel how Jesus put faith into action, and we see how we can be inspired by him to live more authentically.

Power Surge

February 4 - March 17, 2024

A power surge occurs when there is more power running through an outlet than it is prepared to handle. The result is often a blown fuse or a tripped breaker. When Jesus started his ministry in Galilee, he brought forth way more power than people were ready for. From miraculous healings and exorcisms to powerful teaching and preaching, Jesus showed forth a power unlike anyone had ever known. For religious leaders, it was more power than they could handle. In this series, we see the acts of power in the early ministry of Jesus that caused religious leaders to begin to plot how they might stop him.

November 26 - December 31, 2023

How many times have we heard the lament that our culture’s celebration of Christmas is so loaded with gifts, parties, decorations, and gatherings that the real reason for the season gets drowned out? What if we stop lamenting and do something about it? What if we turn down all the noise and turn up the real story of Christmas.

In this five part-series, we walk verse-by-verse through the Christmas story in Luke 2, paying close attention to the history, culture, and ancient prophecies that help us make meaning of the story of Christ’s birth.
