God's Perfect Timing

If you haven’t met me yet, my name is Leigha Pindroh, and I recently started as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Dutilh Church. Aside from working here at the church, I am a busy mom of three little boys ages 8, 6 and 2. As any parent knows, finding the balance of work and family time is a delicate dance, but I feel blessed that God’s perfect timing lined up with the church’s needs, as well as my family’s.

Since becoming a mother back in 2015, I was adamant that I could never take on the role of a stay-at-home mom. The women (and men) who stay at home to raise their children full time are a special, patient breed. I always said, for me, I’m a better parent when I can take time away from my family and focus on something that I’m passionate about, outside of parenthood.

I was blessed to have a fulfilling career that eventually led me to spearhead brand marketing efforts for the Pittsburgh Marathon. Playing a major role in the coordination and execution of Pittsburgh’s largest sporting event was all I could have ever dreamed of for a career. However, I quickly began to realize I was not happy, even though in theory I had my dream job. I found myself missing precious moments with my children – soccer games, field trips, and simple weekend family time.

Faced with this inner conflict, I turned to prayer, seeking guidance and clarity. Together with my husband, we deliberated on the path ahead, ultimately deciding that prioritizing family meant stepping away from my demanding job. It was a leap of faith, a decision to trust in God's plan for our lives, even when the future seemed uncertain.

For almost a year, I embraced the role of a stay-at-home mom, cherishing the opportunity to be fully present for my boys. I picked up small, part-time jobs in the marketing field and waited patiently for something that made sense for our family. We were blessed when an unexpected opportunity emerged – the role at Dutilh Church. Here, I found not just a job, but a calling that resonated with my faith, family, and career aspirations.

As the Director of Marketing and Communications, I am privileged to weave stories of faith and community, all while having the flexibility to prioritize my family. It's a testament to the beauty of God's timing – how He aligns our desires with His purpose in ways we could never anticipate.

So, to all those navigating the complexities of life's decisions, I urge you to trust in God's perfect timing. Though the road may be winding and the destination uncertain, His faithfulness never wavers.
