2023 Flea Market a Record-Setter

We are excited to share that this year's Flea Market, held Friday and Saturday, July 28-29, brought in a gross profit of more than $29,000, topping the record set in 2022 of $19,000. Funds raised will go primarily to ministries inside and outside of Dutilh Church.

A Team Effort

"We are grateful for everyone's support, the donations from everyone, and for all the generous help provided," said Kate Bryant, Flea Market co-chair.

An average of 50 volunteers worked long hours each day from Sunday, July 23, through Thursday, July 27, sorting, displaying, and pricing items, and then working the actual sale. Volunteers also served at the concession stand all week, feeding the volunteers and later the shoppers, while others facilitated the bake sale. And many more showed up to supply the muscle for Flea Market setup and teardown.

Co-chair Kay Rimer thanks the Flea Market committee, all who donated or volunteered, and especially those people who worked behind the scenes to fill unexpected needs. "You know who you are!" she said. That help encompassed everything from bringing cases of water for the volunteers to personally collecting items from homes where people were unable to deliver donations in person.

The Flea Market Team will soon begin planning for its 2024 sale (2023 was the 13th year). Wish to get involved? Contact Kay Rimer at rimerkay@yahoo.com.
