Butler County Community College
Butler County Community College (BCCC, also called BC3) is looking for interested persons to volunteer in a tutoring program. Participants need to complete a Tutor Training class either at the Butler campus or online. Tutors can help with Adult Literacy Tutoring, GED, or ESL (English as a Second language). The Center for Hope is a faith-based community center located in Ambridge. Center for Hope offers a multitude of programs, including a clothes closet and food pantry, after school classes for children and counseling for adults. - Clothing Center: 2-3 individuals to organize donated items; flexibility in choosing own schedule; one-time or continuing opportunity

Cranberry Place
Cranberry Place is located by UPMC Passavant, Cranberry and is a residential facility for people requiring nursing care. This ministry is based on Matthew 25: 40: "Whatever you did for the least of these, you did for me."
- Visit with residents
- Provide a listening ear and a loving heart
- Become part of a team of Vigil Companions
- Offer comfort to the dying individual through presence, prayer, music, scripture

Gleaner’s Food Bank is located in the garage behind St. Ferdinand’s Church on Rochester road. It provides food to needy families in the Cranberry area. Teens looking for service hours may be able to help here. Contact Linda Heery at 724-776-2328.
North Hills Community Outreach - www.nhco.org
North Hills Community Outreach is an interfaith organization addressing the needs of people in crisis, hardship and poverty in Alleghany County. The main office is in Allison Park, but they have offices in Hampton, Millvale, Bellevue, O’Hara and Pine.
NHCO provides a variety of services to people, including but not limited to: food pantry, utility assistance, emergency financial help, employment coaching, Faith in Action volunteer caregiving for the elderly, Community Auto car donation program, and much more! Some programs, such as Community Auto, are offered across the entire county as well as additional counties.

Project Hope
Project Hope is dedicated to giving support to families of children who have been hospitalized for long term care in the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Their mission is to support parents and families with basic needs to facilitate their stay so that they can focus on taking care of their child.
Read To a Child
Help expand a child’s awareness of the written word by reading books one-on-one with a child in grades 3-5 at Manchester Elementary on the North Side. Books are provided. The Nyadire Connection

- Current goals are to re-equip the hospital, build a library, refurbish the water system, develop a farm project and support teachers.
- Knit hats, blankets, and sweaters are always welcome and will be hand carried when mission trips go. Mission trips are planned in June, August and October.
- Participate in a mission trip. Eight people sign up to travel to Zimbabwe.

Treasure House is a woman’s clothing resale shop that partners with local organizations and churches to distribute gift certificates to women who are survivors of domestic violence, have experienced financial crisis, and/or are re-entering the job market.
