Camping Month at Dutilh Church!
February 12 - March 4
Both Cranberry and Mars campuses will be celebrating Camping Month. There will be special announcements, including short videos, during worship each Sunday, providing information about the United Methodist summer camping program and our participation in it. There will also be camping registration brochures and informational flyers available at the special display corner of the Greeting Area at Cranberry Campus and Display Table at Mars Campus. Members of the camp team will be present to answer any questions about the camping ministry.

Schedule for Camping Month
February 12: Introduction to the camping ministry and sale of carnations (Both Campuses)
February 19: Sale of marshmallow sticks (Cranberry Campus)
February 26: Sale of s’morz treats (Cranberry Campus)
March 4: Camping Breakfast, Fellowship Hall, Cranberry Campus. Come to church hungry!

Support Camping
Even if you do not have children at home, your support of the camping ministry is needed and appreciated. In addition to supporting the fund-raisers listed above, the camp team asks that you consider a donation to the camping ministry. We provide camperships to each child and teen from our two campuses, equal to about ½ the cost of camp. Plus, the Camp Fund supports the FISH Group’s annual summer camp at Jumonville.

In addition, our Camp Fund provides a summer camp experience for many, many other children and teens. We work with Fellowship United Methodist Church in Ambridge, providing camperships to children from low-income families. We support H.O.P.E. Camp, a unique camping event at Jumonville that works with at-risk children and teens from many communities in southwest Pennsylvania . NEW THIS YEAR: we are partnering locally with the Mars Home For Youth, and the After School Program at our Mars campus, to provide a summer camp experience to children and teens locally.

United Methodist Summer Camps
Dutilh Church is an active participant in and supporter of the Western Pennsylvania United Methodist summer camping program. This program offers over 140 different events in a 10-week summer camping season, June through August.

There are camping events for all ages: preschool and kindergarten, early and late elementary, middle school, high school and adult. There are also events that the whole family can enjoy together. Camps range in length from two days (for younger children) to week-long events.

And, the camping program offers camps for every interest: sports; outdoor adventure activities; arts, music & drama; horse and pony camps; and camps for special needs children, teens and adults.

The camping program has three sites available:

Jumonville: a beautiful mountain-top setting just east of Uniontown, PA. It is a 90 minute drive from Cranberry. www.jumonville.org

Camp Allegheny: 300+ acres in the Laurel Highlands, located on Rt. 30, about a half-hour east of Ligonier, PA. The camp is adjacent to the Flight 93 Memorial. This camp is a 2-hour drive from Cranberry. www.campallegheny.org

Wesley Woods: hundreds of acres of beautiful countryside and forest in northwest Pennsylvania. It is approximately a 2.5 hour drive from Cranberry. www.wesleywoods.com

Printed registration and information brochures are available beginning in late February each year.  However, you can register on-line at any time by going to www.wpaumc.org/camping.
