Ash Wednesday Service
February 22 at 7:00pm, Cranberry Campus
Dutilh Church is hosting a traditional Ash Wednesday Worship Service. This service will feature both a communion celebration and the imposition of ashes. Ash Wednesday is the start of Lent in the Christian tradition. Both communion and the ashes, in addition to the focus on scripture and worship, prepare Christians to celebrate Lent.
Matt McCarrier, Dutilh Church’s Youth Director, will be preaching. He will be focusing on basic questions about Lent: Why do we celebrate Lent? Where did the idea of Lent come from? What is the purpose of the Lent season? He will use the story of Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness to illustrate how celebrating a holy Lent can grow us in our connection to Christ, and in our spiritual lives.
